Chicken tikka is a traditional chicken recipe originating in South Asia region. It is basically small pieces of boneless chicken baked using wood stick or metal needle in an oven called a tandoor after marinating in spices and yogurt. It’s essentially a boneless version of tandoori chicken. But in general we do not have tandoor in our houses, so presenting the chicken tikka recipe for Microwave Oven.
Chicken Tikka Recipe for Microwave Oven

Cooking time: 1hour
Ingredients:
- 800gm boneless chicken
- 300gm hung curd
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 2 tbsp garlic paste
- 2 tbsp mustard powder
- 2tbsp ginger juice
- 1tbsp soya sauce
- 2 tbsp chaat masala
- 2 tbsp kashmiri lal powder
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
- 4 tbsp lemon juice
- 2tbsp vinegar
- Salt to taste
- Mint for garnishing
Method:
Cut chicken into small cubes, wash nicely and lemon juice, vinegar and salt to it and leave it.
For the marinate:
Whisk hung curd in a bowl. Add all the ingredients except oil to the curd. Mix well and rub over the chicken pieces and refrigerate the marinated chicken for 3-4 hours.
The cooking method:
At first pre-heat the oven for 20minutes on HIGH. Then put the chicken on the high rack and grill on high for 30minutes, till tender and apply oil.
When one side is almost done, then change the side for 30 minutes.
Garnish it with mint leaves.
Serve hot with mint chutney, onion and lemon wedges and sprinkle chaat masala powder.
